Nickelback is the top group of the decade, according to Billboard magazine. Rapper Eminem has been named the top artist of the decade, and 'N Sync garnered the title album of the decade for its bestselling No Strings Attached (2000). Nickelback was the highest-ranking band of the decade, finishing behind solo artists Eminem, 50 Cent, Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Nelly and Usher, for overall impact and importance. Despite a distinct lack of critical acclaim, the rock band from Hanna, Alta., has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide.

Nickelback have more fans? It may be a joke but the answer might not have the band laughing — a pickle.A group on Facebook called "Can this pickle get more fans than Nickelback?" hit its goal over the weekend, notching up 1.4 million fans. The post-grunge band Nickelback had 1.38 million fans on Facebook but this number has since topped 1.4 million.
The group was started earlier this month by a Facebook user called Coral Anne as a joke, with the band's name deliberately spelt wrongly on the page to get around copyright infringement.

The teenager wrote that the page was inspired by another Facebook page called "Can this onion ring get more fans than Justin Bieber?" which she had found amusing.Canadian singer Bieber, 15, who was discovered on YouTube, is enjoying enormous success with singles from his debut album "My World.""This is all strictly intended for humor and nothing more or less," she wrote. "I am not using this page to endorse any hate towards the band Nickelback ... I do not wish Nickelback or any other bands any ill will and hope they would see the same humour in making this page as I have." Nickelbackcould not be immediately reached for comment.

Nickelback Confessions of a new Nickelback fan

Nickelback concert saying you're going is like kicking a sack of puppies.
People are going to hate you for it.
But I have been converted.
To make any friends I'm not likely by saying the Canadian supergroup absolutely, totally, rocked out at the Boondall Entertainment Centre last night.
In fact, I might lose some.
But Nickelback know what their fans want and make no apologies for it.
This was NASCAR turned into a rock concert. There were fireworks. There were girls in bikinis on big screens. There were mullets. There were more fireworks. At one point, no fewer than six band roadies armed with cannons fired Nickelback t-shirts into the crowd while throwing out cups of beer.
The tone for this extravaganza of machismo was set early when, following an eardrum busting crack of fireworks, the band opened with the sexy, or some might say grossly offensive, pumping rock of Something in Your Mouth.
This was followed by the mellower Because of You before one of Nickelback's big hits, Photograph ("Look at this photograph..."), unsurprisingly a crowd favourite.
Next Figured You Out ("I like your pants around your feet") was dedicated to the ladies who, despite what anyone may think, seemed to love the dirty lyrics, with the majority of female fans rocking out to Chad Kroeger's chainsaw voice.
Sufficiently rested by a string of slower paced songs, the guys then launched into their 2006 hit country rock Rockstar ("Hey hey I wanna be a rockstar") and then moved into the hard rocking Sad But True, Burn It To The Ground and a monster drum solo which saw drummer Daniel Adair genuinely looking in pain after 10 minutes solid playing.
Finally the band closed with a collection of crowd favourites, including How You Remind Me followed by a reverse to the 2002 hit Too Bad ending with an encore of 2003's Someday and 2008's Animals.
Of course it couldn't be over without another gigantic fireworks and flame display with what looked like a New Year's Eve collection detonated all at once.
I'm surprised Boondall stayed standing.
Simply put Nickelback were performers, absolute stand out performers, engaging the crowd in showy gestures like the call and response ("We say Nickel, you say Back!") and talking extensively with the audience, weaving a narrative through their performance.
It made everyone, even those of us who'd arrived feeling dubious, feel like a diehard fan
It was stadium rock at its absolute best. Anyone who has ever watched a hair metal video clip (Poison, Van Halen, Guns N' Roses) would love the excess, the bravado, the noise. And let's not forget the fireworks.

Gig date set for Nickelback

Nickelback to grammy award winning rock band are set to play Dubai.
The Canadian rockers will perform a one off full arena set at the Gulf Bike Festival in February 2010.
With their European tour the gig is set to concide.
The Gulf Bike Festival will showcase the latest in bikes, apparel, accessories, custom designed bikes and motorcycle related products, set to delight rev heads across the emirates. It also includes a host of live entertainment.
The concert takes place on February 5.

Nickelback and Staus Quo in Dubai

In Febryary the veteran stadium rockers will hit town with Canadian favourites Nickelback.
Dig out your faded denim, people. Aerosmith aren't the only golden oldies loving the UAE.
Vintage stadium rock gods Status Quo will be hitting Dubai between February 4-6 with with Canadian favourites Nickelback by their sides.
Both bands will perform as part of the Gulf Bike Festival.
The show also features, two live music stages, a FMX Stunt Arena, Super Motto Circuit, Quad Zone and bike park.
The Gulf Bike Festival is recognised as the largest of its kind and showcases the latest in bikes, ATVs, apparel, accessories, custom-designed bikes and motorcycle related products from all major international brands from Europe, the USA, Canada, Italy and Japan.

Titans despite injury, Fuller stays

It easy over the last year to Vincent Fuller had the option of taking aboyt a few weeks while his teammates practiced.
The Titans nickelback wouldn't dream of it. He was going to practice, broken arm and all.
Although Fuller hasn't been cleared to play in games, he's regularly working on the practice field. He began easing his way back into practices barely a week after suffering a fractured forearm on Sept. 27 against the Jets and having surgery the next day.
"That's just Vinny,'' linebacker Keith Bulluck said. "He has been doing those types of things since he's been a rookie. He has always pushed himself, whether it's in the weight room or doing extra stuff after practice on the field. That's the type of player he is and we notice that and appreciate that about him.''
Fuller, a fourth round pick by the Titans in 2005, said it's been killing him not to play.
The problems in the secondary have been well documented during a 0-6 start, and the Titans are last in the NFL in pass defense.
Fuller missed the past three games and so did cornerback Cortland Finnegan (hamstring). Cornerback Nick Harper (forearm) sat out last week.
While Fuller might be able to return for the Nov. 1 game against the Jaguars, he had no chance to play in the past three games. Yet he still participated in individual drills, worked on the scout team and helped out in other ways.
He's jammed receivers at the line of scrimmage using his left arm while doing his best to protect his right arm, which is outfitted in a protective cast.
"When I broke it I was mad, but it's an upper body injury and there is nothing wrong with my legs,'' Fuller said. "So as soon as they said it was OK for me to run around and do football activities I thought it would be good to practice. One reason is because I had a fresh pair of legs and figured I could help out the team. And … it helps keep me in shape for when I am ready to come back.''
Practicing helped keep him involved, but it hasn't been a cure-all.
"It is killing me to be on the sideline and not play,'' he said. "Practicing doesn't ease that pain, but it helps me keep my footwork and even get better — work on things I need to work on.''
Teammates and coaches have noticed his commitment, though the Titans could use Fuller in the lineup. He's one of the team's most underrated players of the past few years.
"That's the kind of guys we need,'' safety Chris Hope said. "Everybody needs to be accountable. Even though he can't play and help on Sunday, he does a great job of coming out and encouraging the guys and coming to practice and doing the little things. … It speaks volumes to how committed he is to the guys in the locker room and how he is trying to get better and healthy and get back out there.''
Fines levied: Titans safety Chris Hope has been fined $10,000 by the NFL for a hit on Patriots quarterback Tom Brady in last Sunday's game.
Hope was flagged for roughing the passer in the game, and the NFL ruled he also made helmet-to-helmet contact with Brady.
Hope wasn't the only Titan fined for a hit in the team's 59-0 loss. Defensive tackle Tony Brown was also fined $5,000 for a hit on Brady in the contest.
Fumble woes: Running back LenDale White beat himself up in the days following January's playoff loss to the Ravens. He had a costly fumble, leading to this prediction back in training camp:
"I have my mind conditioned to hold on to the ball this year. I don't want to jinx myself, but my goal is to have zero fumbles this year.''
White made it through five games before he coughed up the ball against the Patriots last Sunday.
"I can't blame the weather conditions,'' White said. "The fact of the matter is I put myself and the team in a bad situation and it can't happen again. I'm not glad about it.''
No quit: Fans and media have questioned the Titans' effort against the Patriots, with some ESPN analysts suggesting the visitors quit.
"There's a lot of things that happened wrong in that game, but it wasn't a lack of effort,'' defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch said. "I don't think it's a lack of preparation, a lack of emotion, a lack of heart. I think this team has plenty of heart.''
"It (ticks) me off,'' White said. "I know all the people on my team work hard. I know everybody was fighting. Nobody quit. We did what we could, we tried very hard.''
Said quarterback Kerry Collins: "I have never seen one guy in here give less than 100 percent effort.''
New mascot: Last year Titans offensive linemen created an enormous ball of athletic tape and called it "Bryan Pride." He became their unofficial mascot.
Now the defensive linemen have created their own mascot, a football player made out of tape. The creation of William Hayes, Dave Ball and Tony Brown is called "Keevan" and is in a three point stance. At times he wears a tiny Titans helmet.
"He's going to be way better than Bryan Pride,'' Hayes said.
Coach-speak: Defensive coordinator Chuck Cecil touched base last week with the man he replaced, Lions Coach Jim Schwartz.
"We had a good conversation,'' Cecil said. "He was very positive. We talked about the situation here and his there. It was a good conversation.''
Cecil, a 2009 College Football Hall of Fame inductee, will be honored tonight at Arizona, his alma mater, during a game against UCLA.

Nickelback sure do love their 1980s arena rock. Not only do they write some of the most anthemic rock you'll hear on radio these days, on their most recent album, 'Dark Horse,' the Canadian superstars hired Robert "Mutt" Lange to sit in the producer's chair. "The cool thing about Mutt is that he always envisions a band playing in an arena and the dynamics that should go behind that." says Nickelback guitarist/vocalist Chad Kroeger when Noisecreep caught up with him this week. Known for his sonically groundbreaking work on classic albums by AC/DC, Def Leppard and Foreigner, Lange has been one of the most influential guys working in the business for over four decades

"Working with him was a change because I always approach songwriting from an almost movie or storytelling angle but Mutt doesn't really get into that. He told me that he wants the "bumper sticker" quality to come out in our songs which was funny but I totally understood what he meant, " revealed the frontman. "He wants lines and choruses that jump out at you so I actually had to re-write "Burn it to the Ground" three times." We asked Chad if the third time was the charm and he laughed and offered, "I looked at this way, no news is good news!"Noisecreep asked Kroeger about Nickelback's brand new video for the aforementioned 'Burn it to the Ground,' "The song's vibe just fits the setting an arena show gives off so we filmed it at the O2 Arena on our last UK tour. Matthew Amos did a fantastic job of capturing the energy of our live show," says Kroeger. The song comes off 'Dark Horse' but is also available on the brand new 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen' soundtrack.
